It is the primary means by which human beings discover and express themselves. It is—quite literally—our most universal artifact, shaping every culture and individual on Earth. It informs our lives on nearly all levels—from the emotion we experience privately when we hear a piece of music that evokes certain memories, to the ways in which creative and intellectual capital drive our economy. The arts infuse our lives with meaning, individually and collectively. 

Valley School believes that nurturing our children necessarily means providing them with a holistic education that includes the arts. Therefore, we prioritize visual and performing arts as integral aspects of our overall curriculum. With the guidance of dedicated and expert faculty, our students explore passions and hone creative expression. The healthy cognitive, social, emotional, and cultural skills our students develop through Valley School Arts transfer to other areas of life, benefitting them not just as students, but as people. In fact, the Arts enhance the Valley School experience for our entire community—students, teachers, families, and friends—by providing us all with proximity to beauty, occasions to gather, and cause to celebrate.
