• What have you learned from participating in athletics?

  Athletics has taught me some of the most important life lessons that I really believe have set me up for success. These life lessons include but are not limited to how to work hard, how to keep working hard even if you are not seeing the results you want, how to be a good leader but also how to be a good follower, and how to work cohesively with a group of people who come from different backgrounds and upbringings. Lastly, and possibly the most important thing that athletics has taught me is how to be successful at something you love while also allowing yourself to enjoy it along the way.

• What are some of your best Valley School memories?

  My years at Valley School are some of my favorite years to date. Valley School left a lifelong imprint on me, and I am forever grateful that I was fortunate enough to get the chance to attend the school from kindergarten through 8th grade. Some of my favorite memories include the 4^th-grade puppet show and states fair, the AMAZING school lunches (Texas sheet cake and pepperoni rolls especially), finding Mrs. Fryer’s alphabet puppets hidden in her room, and of course, Sports Day at the end of the school year.

• What are you up to these days?

  I am going into my senior year of college at Robert Morris University. I am studying Organizational Leadership with a minor in sport management while also being a member of their Division I softball program. I give pitching lessons and work for the USSSA Pride organization as a tournament director. I am also a cat mom to an orange cat named Cash.

• Please share one or two of your favorite quotes.

• Favorite Sports movie(s)? Non-sports movie?

  My favorite sports movie has to be either Remember the Titans or Secretariat. 

• Who’s on your musical playlist right now?

   I am a huge country music fan, and right now, my favorite artist is Zach Bryan. 

• Who has been an important influence on you as a person and athlete?

  My parents have been a huge positive influence in my life and have helped me become the woman that I am today. An athlete who has had a massive impact on me is a woman by the name of Amanda Scarborough. She embodies what it means to be a strong woman and empowers young girls to pursue their athletic dreams every day, even in a male-dominated industry.

• What are your hopes and dreams for the future?

  My dream is to open up my own training facility for young women who want to become the best softball player they can become. I have a passion for coaching and teaching as well as a want to give back to the game that gave me so much. 

• What is your greatest leadership quality and how can you make it better? * Question submitted from Omar Ward.

   I believe that my greatest leadership quality is my ability to inspire and motivate the people around me to be better, but even more importantly believe that they can be better.

  If you could go back and spend one more day in a Valley School classroom, which would it be, with which teacher, and why?
